Dr. Sara Renwick-Lau is an experienced rural GP who has been providing comprehensive health care to remote communities for over a decade. Sara studied at the University of Melbourne and started her career as a doctor working at the Royal Darwin Hospital. She obtained her General Practice, specialist training while working in remote communities of the Northern Territory. She was able to purse her passion for patient-centered, cradle-to-grave medical care, provide medical education for junior doctors working in General Practice in the bush, as well as helping with the recruitment of doctors to remote NT communities.
With her husband and young family, Sara made the move to Victoria in 2007 and was immediately drawn to the pristine beauty and vibrant community of Mallacoota.
She joined the Mallacoota Medical Centre in 2008 where she enjoys the rewarding work of pursuing the prevention of disease as well as having the scope to practice the full breadth of her medical skills. She enjoys leading the Mallacoota Medical Centre team who is enthusiastic and motivated and provides a supportive environment, where patient care is foremost.
Sara’s other pursuits include family oriented activities that help provide the best opportunities for her children and others in the community. Soccer, surfing, diving, pony club, camping, enjoying the bush, visiting friends and enjoying holidays to the big smoke.
Dr. Sara Renwick-Lau is looking forward to being able to spend many more years enjoying her family and her life in the community, as well as being able to continue her important work in Mallacoota.
